
Freight Operations Team Member
- Primary point of contact with Client in building a partnerships for current & future business activity.
- To understand Client’s business and supply chain strategy and ensure busuness solutions match their requirements.
- Develop a strong working relationship with the Client customer Services and shipping departments.
- Proactively look for continuous improvements within the Client supply chain.
- Develop enhanced cost-effective service offerings for Client to ensure product integrity whilst in transit.
- Ensure that strong lines of communication are set-up and established and that timely information flows between both organisations.
- Work closely with Operational Teams in developing enhanced solutions and service offerings for Client Ireland.
- Identify projects for ongoing process improvement
In Addition
- Become an integral part of the Client Materials Team.
- Manage day-to-day queries relating to freight shipments.
- Arrange and propose cost effective solutions for outbound transportation whilst maintaining Client delivery performance.
- Management and maintenance of rates structures, SOPs, KPIs etc.
- Develop and manage customer control tools.
- Control and management of escalation procedures.
- Maintain a strong link with Client operational departments.
- Meet customer escalations within agreed timelines.
- Deliver agreed business management reports to agreed timelines.
- Manage tight time frames, fine detail and a high volume of work in a changing environment.
- Comply with all Client GMP & GDP requirements.
- Attend all relevant project meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Collaborative information sharing – share information and collaborate in real-time.
- Early warning alerts and exception management – resolve supply chain disruptions before they disrupt the client’s business
- Predictive and prescriptive decision -support – using predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- 5 years multi-modal Freight Forwarding experience in Ireland.
- A concise understanding of Airline/Ocean & Land network & equipment capabilities
- A strong understanding of rates & peak operational periods
- A solid understanding of data management systems e.g. booking platforms, track & trace interfaces, Claims process mechanisms and other freight management systems
- IAA Aviation Security trained (ongoing training in line with current legislation)
- Strong planning and organising skills with the ability to multi-task whilst working to tight deadlines
- Ability to deliver key projects on-time and in line with objectives
- IT skills (intermediate e.g. excel, word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate strong effective technical operations competence
- Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving and decision skills in multi-functional settings
- Manage, identify & create KPI’s in line with Job functionality
- Flexibility to work in other operational functions in support of business demands.
