Tips to get you Through your interview:

Your interview starts at the entrance door.
Research the company, industry and the position.
Try to establish the format/style of the interview.
Be prepared to explain why you want the job.
Convince the interviewer that you have what it takes to do the job.
Rehearse the answers you will give to questions arising from your CV.
Speak confidently about dates and grades.
Let the interviewer lead the interview.
Listen and adapt.



  • Confirm interview date, time and the name of the person you are meeting.
  • Arrive for interview with time to spare.
  • Be neat and presentable at interview.
  • Be friendly to everybody you meet.
  • Be truthful.
  • Speak clearly.
  • Maintain eye contact.
  • Pay attention to what is being said.
  • Ask questions about the company, their future…
  • Remain calm.
  • Be confident, not overbearing.
  • Thank the interviewer for taking the time to see you, when the interview is over.

  • Bluff.
  • Fidget.
  • Answer curtly.
  • Make derogatory remarks about your current or any previous employer.
  • Show disappointment if you feel the interview is not going well.
  • Initiate discussions on matters such as salary, holidays and overtime at the first interview.
  • Overstate your salary expectations
